Daniel Nwosu Jr. was born on the 22nd of March 1994 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He has a Nigerian root, but his family moved to Ottawa, Ontario when he was very young, and later to Wichita, Kansas.
Prior to his getting famous, Dax was a big-time basketball player and was named Sunrise Christian Academy while in his senior season. He further played for Casper College before heading to the University of Montana, and finally transferring to Newman University, where he headed the Heartland Conference in scoring.
He worked as a part-time janitor while schooling at Newman University. In addition to this, he also enjoyed doing spoken-word poetry.
He quit doing the janitor job in 2018 to become a full-time singer. According to him, he worked while in school because his parents couldn’t pay for his education. He finally got a full basket scholarship at the D1 and D2 levels.
